A) Preparatory Steps:
-
Make sure the PIHelper folder
is backed up to a save folder.
-
Make sure the PDATA folder is
backed up.
-
Make sure PI Helper is not
currently running on any system.
-
Make sure no other Corel or
Borland applications are running.
-
On all systems with PI Helper
installed, do the following: Search for and delete all
occurrences of the
following files.
-
Paradox.lck
-
Pdoxusrs.lck
-
Pdoxusrs.net

1) Additional Preparatory Steps for New
Installs of PI Helper:
-
Copy the install file
(pihelp54.exe) or folder (PIHelp54) to all systems required to run PI
Helper.
-
Install PI Helper on those
systems.
-
For each system, open and
close PI Helper. This will perform data table initialization.

A2) Additional Preparatory Steps for Current
Users of PI Helper:
-
Go to www.pihlelper.com to obtain the latest Upgrade module.
-
From the home page , Go to
the link: Current Users: Version 5.4
Upgrade here link.
-
Download the Upgrade and
follow the Instructions at the web site to install it.
-
Once PI Helper is started,
the upgrade process will be completed.

Configuration and Verification:
After Install/ Upgrade installation is performed, the network
configuration can be accomplished.
|
|
|
B) Obtaining and Installing the
Network Key:
In order to operate PI Helper
properly in a network configuration, a Network Key is needed.
-
From the main form go to the Setup
Form >> System notepage.
-
Press the "Copy
Authentication Information to Clipboard" button.
-
Open an email to support@pihelper.com
and select Paste in the message body. Shortly after receiving the
email your Network Key will be returned. (Note: Even without the Network Key
you can operate PI Helper as long as one person at a time does work.
Once the Network Key is present, all the locking features of the network
operation will be enabled.)

Once you receive the Network
Key, input in the Network Key field on the System Notepage of the Setup
form.

C) Setting up User IDs and
Access Rights:
-
Go to the Network
notepage of the Setup form. This is where most of the Network
Configuration will be accomplished. There is one Supervisor ID and its
default ID is: PI with a password of PI. You can change
the name and password of the Supervisor ID.
-
Press the "New User
ID" button to input Users of PI Helper. As many User
IDs as desired can be inputted, but a maximum of Six users can be signed
into PI Helper at the same time.
-
For each User configure their
access rights as shown in the Access Rights box.
-
Press "OK"
to accept settings for each user.

D) Network Parameter Settings:
On the top right of the Network
notepage is the "Network Configuration" button.
Pressing this button will start the Wizard that helps configure the network
parameters. Please follow the instructions carefully. Once you
have successfully completed the wizard, PI Helper will be ready for network
operation
